Pastor
Patrick Hughes is pastor of New Life.

After graduating from Bible college in 1991 Pastor Pat married Debbie Donnelly who had accepted Christ as her savior as a child and surrendered to the Lord for life ministry during her teen years.  From 1991 through 1997 Pastor Pat was in Seminary.  During this time he worked full time in a local factory and attended the Independent Bible Church in Duryea Pennsylvania where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School and assisted in numerous ministries.  In 1997 Pat completed his Masters of Divinity degree and began serving as the youth pastor at the Independent Bible Church under Senior Pastor Al Cremard.

While Pat was in Seminary Debbie completed her masters degree in Education and began teaching full time in a local public school.  After five years of teaching, their first child was born and Debbie resigned from full time teaching, but continued to do tutoring and substitute teaching.

In 2004 the Lord lead Pastor Pat into church planting.  That year was spent traveling in order to raise support for the church plant while continuing to serve at the Independent Bible Church (IBC).   IBC played a major role in the establishing of the new church and remains closely conected to this day.

Much prayer and study went into the decision to start a church in Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania.  The Lord clearly lead.   As the Hughes' were nearing the end of the fund raising process and were planning to start a chruch in Marshalls Creek they were contacted by the Open Bible Church; a church that had just seen their pastor, Leon Taylor, go home to glory at the age of 89.  The six remaining members of the Open Bible Church invited Pastor Pat to merge the church plant work with their existing work. New Life Fellowship Baptist Church was launched on May 15, 2005.

The Hughes' have three children. Emily was born in 2000; Grace was born in 2002; and David in 2004.
